High Watchmaking Class: A Hands-On Journey Into Horology

The event commenced with a high watchmaking class. VIP customers were immersed in the world of horology as they had the rare opportunity to assemble and disassemble some of IWC's most intricate movements. Expert watchmakers guided attendees through the delicate process, showcasing the artistry behind IWC's iconic timepieces.

Cocktail Reception and Product Unveiling: Elegance and Innovation Meet

As the evening continued, a cocktail reception unfolded, evoking an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. Guests indulged in a delectable array of culinary delights and a selection of fine beverages. The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the latest timepieces from IWC Schaffhausen, including the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Edition “Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team.”

In addition to the splendid watches, the event showcased a stunning lineup of Mercedes-Benz cars, each equipped with the innovative AMG feature, mirroring the spirit of precision and excellence that both IWC and Mercedes-Benz embody.

The event served as a testament to the convergence of craftsmanship, luxury, and innovation. It brought together two iconic brands celebrated for their unwavering commitment to quality.

A Chronograph In A Motorsport-Inspired Material

Introduced at the first Miami Grand Prix™ a year ago, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team is crafted from remarkably rigid grade 5 titanium. Offering the highest strength-to-density ratio of any metal, titanium is about 45 percent lighter than steel. It is also widely used in automotive engineering to manufacture components subject to extreme stains, such as engine valves. In addition, titanium impresses with its corrosion-resistance and skin-friendliness.

A black dial with printing and luminescence in the team’s signature PETRONAS green complements the striking design. The chronograph is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre movement. This robust chronograph movement in a column-wheel design comprises 242 parts and can be viewed through the sapphire glass back. Its bi-directional pawl winding system builds up a power reserve of 46 hours in the mainspring.

The existing version of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team (Ref. IW388108) on a green rubber strap comes in a bundle with a black calfskin strap. Thanks to the integrated EasX-CHANGE® system, the straps can be exchanged quickly and easily, without needing additional tools.
