Invest Cyprus participates in UNCTAD’s World investment Forum in Abu Dhabi

Invest Cyprus, Cyprus' national authority in attracting foreign investments, took part in UNCTAD’s World Investment Forum held in Abu Dhabi on 16 -20 October, showcasing Cyprus’ comparative advantages towards attracting foreign investments.
According to a press release issued by Invest Cyprus, discussions at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's forum aimed at tackling investment challenges in the current multiple crises, including investments in food safety, energy, health, supply chain resilience, and production capacity.
During panel and round-table discussions, Invest Cyprus’ CEO Marios Tannousis presented Cyprus’ investment strategy, outlining the island’s comparative advantages in attracting investments that would significantly contribute to Cyprus’ sustainable economic growth.
Cyprus' investment strategy, he said, is based on three pillars, among which is the attraction of enterprises and investors from the field of technology.
He added that Invest Cyprus provides sector-specific information, pointing out investment opportunities, while outlining the Cypriot legislation, policies, and incentives.
Speaking during a discussion entitled 'Investing in times of crisis,' Tannousis pointed out that local and foreign investments largely depend on the economic, financial, and sociopolitical situation of each country and referred to Invest Cyprus’ initiatives to assist investors in periods of economic and environmental crises.
Tannousis also participated in the Global Council of the World Association of Public-Private Partnerships, whose Invest Cyprus is a member, stating that the agency is placing great emphasis on promoting projects which prioritise ESG criteria in fields such as tourism and hospitality, renewable energy, health, and technology.
