Freight transport in Cyprus up by an annual 2.6% in Q2

Freight transport in Cyprus rose by an 2.6% in the second quarter of this year compared with the corresponding period last year, according to data released by CySTAT.

According to CySTAT’s road freight data for the period of April to June 2023, freight transport in Cyprus amounted to 9.95 million tonnes compared with 9.7 million in the respective period of last year.

For the same period the freight transported to and from Cyprus rose by 9.4% year on year.

For the first half of 2023,  the total weight of goods transported by road in Cyprus rose by 5.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2022, while the weight of freight transported from and to Cyprus also increased by 18.1%, CySAT added.
