'Step By Step New York' initiative to support Hope For Children

“Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center (HFC) has invited its supporters to embrace the 'Step By Step New York' initiative led by volunteer hiker, Alexis Sofocleous.

The initiative is taking place under the auspices of the Consulate General of the Republic of Cyprus in New York, an announcement from the organisation said.

“Starting from today, Monday 6 November to Monday 13 November, Alexis will embark on a 150km journey, across New York City's iconic avenues, pausing to appreciate its renowned landmarks. Through captivating video narratives, Alexis will shine a light on the invaluable work carried out by the 'Hope for Children' CRC Policy Center while encouraging the public to donate for this noble cause,” the announcement notes.

“Alexis's journey is about passion, dedication, and a call to safeguard our children's future. But he can't do it alone. He needs society’s support to magnify his impact,” HFC’s announcement continues, calling people to pledge their support and boost Sofocleous's initiative by donating at www.uncrcpc.org.cy/donate as well as by spreading the word, and staying updated on Alexis’ journey by following HFC on social media (Instagram: @hopeforchildren / Facebook: @Hopeforchildren.crcpolicycenter / X: @infouncrc)

‘Step By Step New York’ has also received the valuable support of the Federation of Cypriot American Organizations (FCAO), the organisation also noted.

For the past 15 years, dedicated to its vision and mission, Hope for Children has been on the ground, serving children’s needs and securing their rights, including access to rehabilitation services, education, food and clothing, education, and family care.

“With your help, we can continue funding vital grassroots projects so that every child has the chance to thrive and be the best they can be. Walk with Alexis, even if it’s in spirit. Together, let's take action, support the cause, and ensure a brighter future for our children,” the announcement concludes.
