RSM Cyprus supports the "Quality of Education (SDG4)"

On December 7, 2023, in the context of RSM World Day, all member companies of the network joined their voices in support of the fundamental Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the UN Global Compact, "Quality of Education", which ensures inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

"It is commonly accepted that equal access to the quality of education is fundamental, as it helps improve human life and sustainable development," the company said in a press release. "Although much progress has been made in accessing education at all levels of education and skills acquisition in Cyprus, we still have a long way to go, especially when addressing vulnerable groups."

On RSM World Day, RSM Cyprus proceeded with a series of actions that promoted the power of understanding and the fundamental right of equality in education.

After the discussions it had with the School for the Deaf and the "Welfare Fund of the School for the Deaf Children" about children's education needs, it donated two televisions installed in the school's classes.

"These televisions are a vital tool for enhancing education and learning, especially for deaf children, where the visual element is particularly important in comprehending their lessons," it explained. "The importance of technology in education undoubtedly improves the quality of learning, creating an inclusive environment for all."

At the same time, the RSM Cyprus team visited the School for the Deaf, experiencing the students' daily life for a while. "During our visit, we watched informative videos about the school's activities, participated in a sign language lesson and collaborated with the children in various activities such as cooking, crafting and floorball."

The company said that its interaction and cooperation with the children helped it understand the needs and challenges they are called upon to face. "At the same time, we realised that communication skills are a dominant challenge that can impact learning. Quality access to education plays a significant role as it can enhance learning and skill development, which will help us get closer to the best version of ourselves."

George Themistocleous, Managing Partner, CEO of RSM Cyprus, stated: "Our company, in the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility, will continue to support such efforts, which promote the quality of education for all. We offered these televisions to enhance the school's actions and children's right to access quality education, which can create opportunities for the future."
