EIB delegation in Cyprus for signing of four loan agreements

A delegation from the European Investment Bank (EIB), headed by its Vice-President Kyriacos Kakouris, will pay an official visit to Cyprus on 22 December for the signing of four loan agreements.

According to the Finance Ministry, one of the agreements, between the EIB and Republic of Cyprus, is for the first installment of a €130m loan for projects and programmes that are co-financed by the EU's Cohesion Policy Funds for the programming period 2021-2027, which are included in "THALEIA 2021-2027".

In addition, loan agreements will be signed between the EIB and the Sewerage Boards of Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol-Amathus, for a total amount of up to €100m, to finance sewerage projects.

The signing ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment, Petros Xenophontos, Mayor of Nicosia Constantinos Yiorkadjis, the Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras and the General Manager of the Limassol-Amathos Sewerage Board, Yiannis Tsouloftas.
