TotalEnergies appoints Pedro Ribeiro as new country manager for Cyprus

A new country manager for Cyprus was recently appointed by France's TotalEnergies, considered an important and strategic partner of the Republic of Cyprus in the energy sector and which operates, together with the Italian ENI, within seven plots in the Cypriot EEZ.
More specifically, the position was taken by Pedro Ribeiro, who has lengthy experience in energy matters and oil and gas in particular, succeeding Romain de La Martinière. Also, as InBusinessNews has been informed, Pedro Ribeiro will be based in Cyprus.
More about Pedro Ribeiro
Having studied at the Instituto Superior Técnico of Lisbon from 1990 to 1997 and subsequently obtaining a master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Pedro Ribeiro has had a remarkable path in the field of energy until today. As he describes himself, he is an Asset & Project Manager with broad international expertise in the oil and gas industry.
He initially worked for a short time at a small company, Tervia, in Angola, (1995-1996), while also studying.
In August 1997 he joined Total E&P as a tank engineer to monitor the development and production of two offshore structures, Cobo and Pambi, in Angola. He would stay there for about eight years, working his way up through the ranks in the company.
Subsequently and for the period 2005-2007, he worked as global head coordinator at Repsol, in Madrid.
In October 2007 he returned to Total, this time in Paris, where he began a long journey of more than 16 years, undertaking projects in various countries, such as Cameroon, Angola, and others.
From April 2020 until recently he worked in Bolivia, as a general manager, where he was responsible for a group of 200 people. The group's goal was continued exploration and project activities towards providing a renewed resource base and increasing production.
Meeting with Papanastasiou
The Minister of Energy George Papanastasiou has wished Pedro Ribeiro the best in his new role, creating a relevant post on social media after a meeting between the two.
