Cyprus Chamber of Commerce delegation in Austria to boost business ties

A business delegation paid a visit to Vienna and took part in a Cyprus - Austria business forum on 6 December, aiming to further enhance economic, trade, and business ties between the two countries. 

The visit was organised by the Cyprus Chamber of Business and Industry (CCCI) in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry and the Cyprus - Austria Business Association, a CCCI press release issued on 8 December said.  

Othonas Theodoulou, Vice Chairman of CCCI addressed the forum, highlighting Cyprus' appeal as an investment destination, making particular note of the offer of services and tourism.  

The opportunities Cyprus offers as an investment destination to investment funds, in real estate, green energy and ICT were outlined during the forum, while a particular reference was made to the country's geostrategic position, which means that it can act as a regional and international basis for businesses, the press release added. 

The double tax treaty which has been signed between the two countries was also analysed in depth. 

Head of the Cyprus- Austria Business Association Nicos Kyriakides stressed Cyprus' advantages as an investment destination and underlined the opportunities offered through both the legal and the tax framework of the country for Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) the press release said.  

He expressed "Cypriot businesses' readiness to further enhance economic, trade and business relations between Cyprus and Austria."
