Hellenic Bank staff support RMHC Cyprus

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC®) Cyprus is dedicated to keeping families together and Hellenic Bank recently helped contribute to this goal.

For the second consecutive year, members of Hellenic Bank’s staff chose to support RMHC® Cyprus financially within the framework of the #HBVolunteersChallenge campaign.

Members of the staff of the Human Resources Unit and the CEO’s Office, through an interdepartmental fundraising process, collected the sum of €630 which was given towards the financial support of the first Ronald McDonald House®.

Through the valuable contribution of volunteers, RMHC® Cyprus has, since the September 2022 opening of the House, hosted 121 families for 1,066 nights, completely free of charge, providing accommodation and support to families whose children were hospitalised in Nicosia. In this way, RMHC® Cyprus provides a "home away from home" so that families can plan their days, eat, rest, and play.

The #HBVolunteersChallenge, part of the voluntary and charitable actions organised by Hellenic Bank staff throughout the year, has now been established as an annual institution. This is an initiative by the bank’s Human Resources Unit, which reflects the spirit of altruism and contribution to society as a whole. In this context, every year, staff members from all Hellenic Bank Departments/Units participate as a group in a series of organised actions and initiatives, which aim to strengthen civil society, social solidarity structures, and the environment.

It is worth noting that this initiative received an honorable mention in the context of the 7th "Corporate Volunteering & Volunteer Offer" Competition of the Pan-Cypriot Volunteering Coordinating Council (PVCC), with the 'Corporate Volunteering Award'.
