Wizz Air adds 3rd aircraft to its Larnaca base

Wizz Air, Europe’s fastest growing and most environmentally sustainable airline globally, has celebrated the arrival of its third aircraft to its Larnaca base.

Together with the arrival of this modern aircraft, 3 new routes, including Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh will start.

Wizz Air started operations in Cyprus in 2010 and has flown over 5 million passengers on its flights during 10 years of successful operations. According to the airline, Wizz Air remains highly committed to Larnaca, to the Cypriot market and to offering great services paired with low fares to its distinguished passengers.

Wizz Air has been continuously expanding its network from Cyprus and now operates 31 routes to 18 countries, including these popular routes to Paris, Yerevan, Vienna, Sofia, Varna, Prague, Copenhagen, Kutaisi, Athens, Thessaloniki, Budapest, Debrecen, Rome, Vilnius, Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Cluj-Napoca, Suceava, Iasi, Belgrade, London, and Bucharest. Moreover, the airline has a number of exciting destinations in its Larnaca schedule to cities like Tel-Aviv, and Abu Dhabi.

The basing of the 3rd aircraft to Larnaca reinforces the airline’s pledge to an environmentally conscious operation, it said. The airline operates one of the youngest fleets in the world with an average age of 4.6 years, enabling Wizz Air to achieve its lowest-ever annual carbon intensity in 2022, which amounted to 55.2 grams per passenger/km only. Wizz Air constantly works on fuel efficiency initiatives and other sustainability projects. Wizz Air is currently the largest operator of the most sustainable Airbus A321neo aircraft in Europe. The airline has an all-Airbus A321neo fleet in Larnaca. The Airbus A321neo aircraft has a 50% reduced CO2 emissions and noise pollution and burns 20% less compared to previous aircraft models.
