KPMG in Cyprus participated in “WE Hotels” booking platform launch event

KPMG in Cyprus participated in the launch event of the “WE Hotels” booking platform (http://www.wehotels.cy/).

During the event the “WE Hotels” booking platform was presented, and the promotion of Cyprus as a place for tourism, business and cultural activities of global interest was discussed and analysed. KPMG in Cyprus was represented by Kyprianos Christofides, Board Member, Head of Travel, Leisure and Tourism. Christofides participated in a panel discussion on the role of hotels and the hospitality industry for place branding and sustainable tourism in Cyprus.

During the 14 March event, Christofides commented: “The hospitality industry and especially hotels are experiencing the increasing attention of travelers and tourist agents on sustainability. The market in Cyprus along with many other aspects of the economy will soon have to adjust to remain competitive and be able to offer services that meet the increased sensitivity of customers on ESG matters. Sustainable tourism for Cyprus is a factor of offering real value to customers, managing overdependency on specific markets and internal cost optimisation”.
