Piatsa Kalamaki: The Greek street food chain eyeing Cyprus

Piatsa Kalamaki, a Greek restaurant chain that combines Greek street food with a variety of other dishes, is currently considering growth prospects within the Cypriot market.

In addition to selected areas of Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as in regional and tourist markets around Greece, the chain has included Cyprus among its development targets.

Expanding through franchise, Piatsa Kalamaki is offering potential partners the opportunity to penetrate a fast-growing market through various types of stores and sources of revenue, among them sit-in, takeaway and delivery options.

The Piatsa Kalamaki menu includes hundreds of options. In addition to souvlaki and burgers, appetizers, stews, traditional and popular local dishes from Northern Greece, Thessaloniki, Volos are included, as well as vegetarian, vegan and meatless options.

The Greek restaurant chain has been active for about seven years.

Piatsa Kalamaki opened its first store in Nea Smyrni, in 2016 and 2018 it expanded to Chalandri, while in the summer of 2020, in the midst of COVID-19, it created another store in Kypseli.

In April 2021, it opened the fourth store in Ilioupoli, while in October 2021, it opened the fifth in Pasalimani, Piraeus.

In September 2022, Piatsa Kalamaki expanded with a sixth store, in the central square of Estavromenou, in Aegaleo.

The average area of ​​a Piatsa Kalamaki store is 135 sq.m.
