“Cyprus: The New Global Technology and Innovation Hub” gains international attention

Some of the world’s leading international companies will be present at the “Cyprus: The new Global Technology and Innovation Hub” summit later this month, where all the latest surrounding the country’s strong momentum in scientific excellence, innovation and technological development will be discussed.

The Summit will take place on 28 April at Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, in Limassol. On the afternoon of the same day, delegates will visit organisations that have already relocated to the island and there will be one-on-one meetings between the participants. This kind of event, focusing on tech hub business relocation, is a first for Cyprus.

The Summit, which is expected to highlight Cyprus’ technological advancement and progress in the field of digitisation, has piqued the attention of scores of companies from abroad. In fact, more than 50 internationally renowned companies are expected to arrive in Cyprus in the coming days to take part in the Summit, from countries including Belgium, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, United Kingdom, and USA.

Rich subject matter

The participants will get to hear market leaders speak about the prospects of the Cypriot economy and the reasons why Cyprus is a thriving and bustling business hub.

The audience will also hear about the Government’s vision and policies to continue the momentum of the country’s dynamic and competitive economy, while speakers are expected to emphasise the basic benefits from becoming active on the island, professionally and personally. The government’s strategy to attract foreign companies to relocate to Cyprus will also be part of the discussion, in the presence of state officials.

Cyprus’ technology and innovation ecosystem will be discussed, what with our island undeniably becoming an emerging tech hub in the EU. Participants will discuss the local legal and regulatory frameworks, the legal obligations to establish a company in Cyprus and the island’s tax system.

Another hot topic will be the Cypriot Intellectual Property (IP) laws, what with this being one of the biggest issues occupying foreign and local businesses. The “Cyprus: The new Global Technology and Innovation Hub” summit will present key points and their legal ramifications. And of course, technology cannot exist without humans. So, the matter of finding human capital with the necessary skills and knowledge is also expected to be analysed by the distinguished speakers.

Who it concerns

The Summit is directed at international delegates (entrepreneurs and senior executives from ICT companies) active in the sectors of software development, financial and investment services, payments and/or electronic money, regulations and compliance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data management, telecommunications services, entertainment, and gaming.

The event is also addressed to associates and other senior professionals from accounting/auditing/tax companies, law firms, service providers, business/management advisers, ICT advisers, tech start-ups, multinational technology companies with a presence in Cyprus and IP.
