How much tourists spend a day in Cyprus

Tourists from Israel appear to be the biggest spenders according to a recent Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service.

According to the Survey, while tourists from the United Kingdom (the largest tourist market with 27.2% of the total tourists in February 2023) spent on average €62.35 per day, tourists from Israel (the second largest market during the specific month with 12.8% of the total tourists) spent on average €103.51.

Tourists from Greece (the third largest market with 12.6%), meanwhile, spent on average €47.34 per day.

The same Survey also found that revenue from tourism reached €56.6m in February 2023 compared to €39.6m in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 42.9%.

For the period of January – February 2023, revenue from tourism is estimated at €102.2m compared to €67.8m in the corresponding period of 2022, recording an increase of 50.7%, the Survey found.
