PASCAL team among three finalists of Globeducate’s sustainable fashion contest

Globeducate student teams from three schools have brought their creativity and sustainability values to life with some impressive winning entries in the Junk Kouture 2023 finals.

A team from PASCAL Private English School Nicosia, their first time taking part in this global competition, entered the finals heat in Milan and were selected for the world finals to be held in London, in October. The team "Angel of the Past" comprised three senior students: Asal, Maria and Nicoletta. They are also the first students from Cyprus to achieve this success.

Two other Globeducate school teams, from ISN Nice, France, and Agora Madrid International School, Spain, reached the Final of the City of Paris 2023 Junk Kouture competition. This took place on 8 May and welcomed design teams from schools all over France (and invited schools from other countries).

The 40 haute couture designs made entirely from recycled materials were on display. From these 40 designs, the 10 best designs were selected for the Junk Kouture World Final on 12 October at the Ovo Arena Wembley in London.

For the second year running, Agora Madrid International School features among the best in the world in this ethical fashion competition, and International School of Nice also features as a newcomer in this finalists selection.

“We look forward to sharing more photos and reflections from the students who took part over the coming months,” said Globeducate. “Junk Kouture is a global arts competition that brings together talents in creativity and ethical and sustainable fashion principles. Participating in the event allows students to explore their creativity and also find a channel to express their voice and values, and to shape the world.”

PASCAL Education (Cyprus) Ltd., the largest group of K12 English and Bilingual schools in Cyprus, joined Globeducate in August last year.

This leading schools group in Cyprus, with 3,000 students and 11 schools across three campuses, comprises both day and boarding schools and an accredited International Baccalaureate World School. PASCAL Schools are fully recognised by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture and the organisation has 350 members of staff.

The schools include three English-medium kindergartens, three primary English-medium schools, three secondary English-medium schools and two secondary Greek-medium bilingual schools located across three campuses in the cities of Lefkosia, Lemesos and Larnaka.
