A relevant press release said Catalano, stated that this highest honourary distinction is conferred upon Professor Loizou in recognition of his enduring, effective, and fruitful contribution to the fight against cancer in children and adolescents in Cyprus and internationally. Dr. Loizou is the founder of the services and the Pediatric Oncology Clinic in Cyprus.
