Deloitte Cyprus announces four new partners

Deloitte Cyprus is further strengthening its leadership team with the appointment of four new partners, effective 1 June 2023.

Alexia Michael and Savvas Savva have been promoted to Partner in the Audit & Assurance Services, and Kyriacos Charalambides in the Financial Advisory Services of Deloitte Limited; while Costas Philippou has been promoted to Partner at Hadjianastassiou, Ioannides LLC, an independent legal entity in Cyprus, affiliated with the Deloitte Legal network.

Alexia has over 17 years of experience, during which she has served a diverse clientele across several industries, including trading, consumer goods and hospitality. Over her tenure, she has accumulated extensive experience and developed strong specialisation in the Insurance industry, and is leading both audit and assurance engagements for the sector.

Alexia holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Cyprus. She is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales (ICAEW). She is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC), and has served for many years on the IFRS committee of ICPAC.

Savvas Savva - Audit & Assurance, Deloitte Limited

Savvas has over 15 years of experience, both in Cyprus and the UK. He specialises in the Insurance industry, offering both audit and IFRS 17 accounting assurance services to clients located in Cyprus, and the wider region. In addition, he is leading a diverse portfolio of audit clients operating in the automotive, hospitality, retail and wholesale sectors.

Savvas holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Manchester. He is a Qualified Chartered Accountant and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC), currently appointed to the Financial Services Committee of ICPAC.

Kyriacos Charalambides - Financial Advisory, Deloitte Limited

Kyriacos has over 15 years of experience, having served clients in various industries with a main focus on corporate finance advisory, valuations & modelling, dispute and forensic services, feasibility studies, financial projections, debt & equity raising projects, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, as well as financial due diligence projects in Cyprus and abroad. He is also the Emerging Growth Companies Segment Leader for Deloitte Private in the Middle East.

Kyriacos holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics from Lancaster University, and an M.Sc. in Economics & Finance from the University of Warwick. He is a Qualified Chartered Accountant, a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC), holder of the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission Advanced Certificate, and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter of the CFA Institute.

Costas Philippou - Hadjianastassiou, Ioannides LLC (member of the Deloitte Legal network)

Costas is a lawyer with over 13 years of experience in the field. His main areas of practice include corporate, commercial, civil and criminal litigation, where he predominantly deals with complex and high-value cross-border corporate, and commercial dispute resolution cases, including shareholder disputes, fraud and white-collar crime. Costas has substantial expertise in the niche betting and gaming area of law. He frequently advises international clients on regulatory matters, as well as dispute resolution issues. Costas has also been listed as a recommended lawyer for dispute resolution by Legal500 for several years.

Costas holds an LL.B. (Hons) and an LL.M. in International Law, both from the University of Hull. In 2009 he was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, and in 2010 he was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association.
