President: We are working methodically for resumption of talks

President Nikos Christodoulides said the government is working methodically, on the basis of a specific plan, in order to create the conditions for the resumption of talks to resolve the Cyprus problem.

Addressing an event in Limassol, the President reiterated that the resolution of the Cyprus problem was the government’s top priority.

"We are working methodically, on the basis of a specific plan, in order to create the conditions for the resumption of a new effort in the UN framework, with enhanced EU participation, so that the outcome is such that it justifies the struggles and aspirations of our people", he said. “We are doing everything humanly possible to create the political and diplomatic framework for dialogue, where we will proceed with honesty, realism, determination, but also with confidence, faith and assertiveness.”

President Christodoulides was speaking at the presentation of a book about EOKA fighter Nikos Sofokleous by Maro Thoma Sofroniou.
