ECC and 'Hope for Children' CRC Policy Centre seminar success

The need for continuous learning and education is a strong conclusion reached by the overwhelming number of attendees in the first series of informative seminars co-organised by the Education Creativity Centre (ECC) and 'Hope for Children' CRC Policy Centre.

The increased interest in issues related to children’s wellbeing and education is highly demonstrated by the fact that more than 100 participants successfully completed the first series of informative seminars organised in May and June, an announcement from the two organisations has revealed.

The informative seminars on 'Managing Children’s Emotions' and 'School Bullying' provided essential insights and equipped school administrators, educators, counsellors, and parents with research- driven knowledge and practical skills to address challenges faced by children today.

The'Managing Children's Emotions' seminars were developed on the premise that emotion regulation is a key milestone in child development, affecting academic performance, long-term mental health, and the ability to thrive in a complex world. Topics covered among others included the significance of emotional regulation, how this skill develops in children, and what is the role of parents in helping children acquire self-regulation skills.

Through the 'School Bullying' seminars, participants delved into the causes and impact of bullying, while exploring prevention strategies and tools to address it, ensuring the safety and well-being of our children. These seminars aimed at raising awareness of bullying, providing advice to detect bullying behaviour, and helping participants understand the signs of a child being a victim, a perpetrator, or a bystander.

"We are encouraged by the interest demonstrated in the first series of informative seminars, as despite the end of the school year fatigue a sufficient number of educators and parents actively participated”, says Ms. Helia Alikhani, Director of the Education Creativity Centre, adding that the ECC is committed to excellence and continuous improvement, constantly reinforcing its practical and results-oriented approach to education and training”.

ECC will continue to provide high-quality education and professional development to educators and parents, through more upcoming activities including a new series of workshops and seminars delivered by industry experts, covering a range of important topics such as addressing school bullying and supporting children's mental health.

The Education Creativity Centre (ECC) is a new professional development and research institute in Cyprus, established in 2023 to meet the market demand for professional development in education and equip parents with practical tools to help their children navigate modern challenges."
