The Cyprus Marine Club recently hosted the Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis who shared her first impressions of spending over 100 days in the Shipping Deputy Ministry Office.
Hadjimanolis was officially appointed Shipping Deputy Minister on 1 March 2023 and the Cyprus Marine Club event took place on 27 June.

The President advised that he was very happy about the high number of participants at the event (over 130 guests registered) and announced the Italian Summer Event on 28 July, a Club press release noted.
In her presentation, Deputy Minister Hadjimanolis eagerly shared the Shipping Deputy Ministry’s goals and plans for the near future, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and competitiveness, and outlined a comprehensive roadmap aimed at propelling Cyprus to the forefront of the global shipping landscape.
Hadjimanolis highlighted the competitive advantages of the Cyprus Shipping Cluster, emphasising Cyprus’s robust maritime infrastructure, and skilled workforce, as well as the active involvement in influential international shipping fora, including the IMO, ILO, and EU. The Shipping Deputy Ministry's plans include among others, the implementation of the One Stop Shipping Centre, which will simplify procedures, and ensure a more flexible, effective, efficient, and customer-oriented service, as well as the implementation of the Shipping Limited Liability Company (S.L.L.C), which will provide additional benefits for such companies. Completing the digital transformation of all services, promoting gender equality in shipping through collaboration with the Commissioner for Gender Equality, and raising public awareness about the importance of maritime-related professions were also identified as key objectives.
Deputy Minister Hadjimanolis expressed her gratitude to the Cyprus shipping industry and emphasised its importance as a valuable asset, with significant political and economic advantages. She highlighted the government's strong commitment to the shipping sector and its determination to lead the way towards a new era.
