Average gross monthly earnings of employees up 7.2% yoy in Q1 2023

An increase of 7.2% is observed in the average gross monthly earnings of employees in the first quarter of 2023, when compared to the same quarter of 2022, according to provisional data, published by CySTAT.

The average gross monthly earnings of employees during the first quarter of 2023 amounted to €2,217 compared to €2,068 during the first quarter of 2022.

The average gross monthly earnings during the first quarter of 2023, seasonally adjusted, are estimated at €2,289 and compared to the fourth quarter of 2022 they are increased by 2.5%.

The average gross monthly earnings of male employees during the first quarter of 2023 are estimated at €2,376 and of female employees at €2,016. Compared to the first quarter of 2022, the average gross monthly earnings of male and female employees recorded an increase of 7.3% and 6.7% respectively.
