Salamis Tours upgrades fleet with new $5m investment

Salamis Tours (Holdings) Public Ltd announced that it has purchased a container ship worth over $5m.

According to the company, the ship cost $5.7m and the deal will be completed once the ship is delivered to Limassol, around 20 June.

The ship was built in 2000, has a total capacity of 8.737 tons and is registered in Antiqua & Barbuda, with Salamis saying it intends to register it under the Cypriot flag.

In its announcement, the company said the transaction with MS "HOLLANDIA" Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (based in Germany) was made purely on a commercial basis. It added that a 10% deposit has been paid, with the rest being settled once the ship is delivered.
