SKY express: Collaboration with Lean In Network Greece (Athens)

True to its commitment to responsible development that combines the achievement of its commercial goals with the sustainability of the environment and the well-being of society as a whole, SKY express is proceeding with a cooperation with the Greek affiliate of the international nonprofit organisation Lean In, Lean In Network Greece (Athens).

According to an announcement from the company, the collaboration aims to empower women and strengthen their professional and personal skills, through educational workshops that will include, among others, development of leadership characteristics, time management, methods of balancing work and professional life, personal communication, basic marketing principles etc.

The programme is initially aimed at young women living and working in border cities and other remote urban and non-urban areas of regional Greece and Cyprus and will then be developed in the rest of the country and other age groups, with the aim of covering more than 15 cities in the next two years.

It will be launched on Thursday, 13 July, at one of SKY express's most favorite destinations, Alexandroupolis, with the women's leadership development workshop "Together we fly high".

Cleio Kouvela, Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs of SKY express said about the partnership, "SKY express ought to be an environmentally and socially responsible choice for the passenger. In this context, we cannot ignore that women, both in Greece and globally, are under-represented, encounter obstacles in their career and personal life, still face conscious and unconscious biases. Via our collaboration with Lean In Network Greece (Athens), an organisation that connects, networks and encourages women around the world to achieve their goals in their workplaces, but also in society, we wish to contribute to eliminate all these barriers. We are starting by standing by women of the cities that host us, showing our respect and willingness to return to the local communities and grow together."

Areti Georgili, co-leader Lean In Network Greece (Athens) stressed, "We are very happy with this collaboration. For us, an organisation based exclusively on volunteers organisation, it is extremely important to work with companies that share the same values, because this is the only way we can achieve more and reach our common goals faster. Our network, for the last 5 years in Greece, has been implementing programmes for individuals, as well as specialised programmes for businesses, which aim to effectively address the conscious and unconscious biases at work, to alleviate gender inequalities in the workspace and to support businesses to implement effective policies to create a working environment with equal opportunities for all. Thank you SKY express for the opportunity we were given and the company's commitment to equality and inclusion."
