Euromed i-House: A platform where research and business can meet

The general objective of Euromed i-House, a resource centre and collaboration hub due to open in the heart of Nicosia, is to provide a platform where research and business can meet, said Emmanuel Noutary, General Delegate, ANIMA Investment Network, which is holding its Annual Forum in Cyprus on 10, 11, and 12 July.

And he said the island stood to gain a lot from this collaboration with Invest Cyprus, including but not limited to attracting more startups from abroad – something Invest Cyprus has been encouraging by promoting special tourism packages for startups and accelerators to visit the country and see its potential.

“With EUROMED iHOUSE, we didn’t want to make another tech hub,” said Noutary on the third and final day of the forum. It is about creating a centre focused on the climatological transition and help the people, enterprises, countries and communities “go through these challenges through innovation”, he said. It will help bring all the stakeholders together, from financing to research actors, in one place to collaborate: “A platform where research and business can meet.”

ANIMA Investment Network, an international network that works towards economic integration and convergence between Europe, Middle East and Africa joined forces with Invest Cyprus to create Euromed i-House, with the participation of CYENS Centre of Excellence.

Described as a resource centre and collaboration hub for the Euromed region to serve innovative enterprises and research, valorisation and develop solutions to face the social and ecological transition, Euromed i-House is anticipated to begin its activities in the first months of 2024.

“The idea of this centre is not to duplicate or replicate or to compete with the ecosystem, but to bring value to the ecosystem,” said Noutary.

He said the aim was to produce things like barometers, ratings, to inform the authorities at international level how innovations for the planet are evolving.

The Forum’s delegates have been divided into groups to discuss what they believe Euromed i-House should do for them. They have been tasked with answering questions like: “What are my needs that this international hub can address?”, “What are the services, programmes I would expect?”, “What type of collaboration could they offer with other stakeholders?” and “What are my recommendations for the success of Euromed i-House?”

ANIMA Investment Network implements cooperation between private sector support ecosystems to promote an attractive, sustainable and inclusive economy.

The Annual Forum is being carried out with the support of Euromed Clusters Forward and EBSOMED (Enhancing Business Support Organisations and Business Networks in the Southern Neighbourhood) in partnership with Invest Cyprus.

The Gold Sponsor is AstroBank, the Silver Sponsor is Bank of Cyprus and the event is coordinated by IMH. InBusiness and GOLD are media sponsors.
