New four-star accommodation to replace Limassol’s Aquarius Beach Hotel

A hotel unit in Limassol is being demolished and then brought back to life with the consruction of a new, four-star seaside hotel in its place.

The Department of Environment has approved the development connected to the construction and operation of the Aquarius Beach Hotel, owned by Issa Bros Cyprus Hotels Ltd, in the community of Mouttagiaka.

The four-star hotel will be built on the site of the former Aquarius Beach Hotel, which operated as a two-star hotel unit.

The seaside block has a total area of ​​3,987 sq.m., with access via Amathountos Avenue. The demolished hotel consisted of a basement and a ground floor area, as well as two floors with beds.

Five-storey, four-star seaside hotel

Based on the environmental opinion, the new proposed Aquarius Beach Hotel project will be a five-storey, four-star seaside hotel unit, with a capacity of 54 rooms and 106 beds.

Its basement will have a gym, spa, storage and parking spaces, its ground floor will have communal areas and restaurants, the mezzanine will have storage and maintenance areas, the three upper floors will include bedrooms and a playground while the last floor will constitute the engineering floor.

In all of the 31 parking spaces in the basement and ground floor area of ​​the proposed development, there will be suitably configured spaces for use by people with disabilities. In the proposed project, a photovoltaic system of 337 collectors (panels) will also be installed, on the roof, as well as in the ground floor space to cover the energy needs of the unit.

Close to La Isla and Guaba

The plot of the project to the east is bordered by a public parking area and the "Amathusia Aphrodite" Cultural Centre and to the east by the La Isla restaurant-bar.

To the west, the lot is adjoined by two houses for sale and further west by the entertainment venue Guaba Beach Bar. Within a radius of one kilometer there are a large number of residential units, tourist accommodations, commercial buildings and places to eat.

The nearest house and residential zone is located 540 meters north of the project. In the immediate surrounding area of ​​the project there is no monument of historical or archaeological importance except "Amathusia Aphrodite" Cultural Centre which is located 28 meters east of it. The main monument in the wider area is the archaeological site of Amathus at a distance of three kilometers.
