Hope For Children: Providing expertise to Mexican authorities through Europol
09:17 - 17 July 2023
“Hope For Children” CRC Policy Center (HFC), a leading organisation dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of children, recently organised a highly successful online conference in collaboration with EUROPOL.
The conference brought together more than 240 professionals from the 32 states of the Mexican Republic, marking a significant milestone in HFC's international cooperation initiatives.
The conference served as a platform for professionals in the juvenile justice system, including Attorneys for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, municipal attorneys, psychologists, social workers, lawyers, and assistants, to exchange knowledge and best practices. The conference commenced with opening remarks by Minister Julio Cesar Sanchez Amaya, Representative of Mexico to EUROPOL, and HFC Executive Director, Andria Neocleous, both emphasising on the importance of such collaborations in enhancing the protection of children's rights.
During the conference, members of HFC’s management shared valuable insights into the organisation's multifaceted programs, highlighting the successful implementation of best practices related to child protection. Such practices include the operation of Children’s House (CH) for cases of sexual abuse against children together with all competent authorities, the preparation of children to participate in judicial proceedings, the connection of CH with courts, the support to foster parents, the operation of shelters for unaccompanied children and other interventions designed through EU projects. Participants gained valuable knowledge about HFC's initiatives, which have positively impacted the lives of thousands of children.
The conference fostered collaboration among professionals working in the field of child protection, promoting the exchange of expertise and effective strategies to ensure the well-being of children. The active engagement of attendees further reinforced the commitment to continuing the cooperation with Mexican authorities and EUROPOL for the development of joint capacity building projects.
Andria Neocleous, the Executive Director of "Hope For Children" CRC Policy Center, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to present HFC's work. She emphasised the significance of knowledge exchange and extended her appreciation to Minister Julio Cesar Sanchez Amaya for selecting HFC to showcase its expertise to representatives from the 32 states of the Mexican Republic. Mrs. Neocleous highlighted the importance of international collaboration in driving positive change for children worldwide.
With its steadfast commitment to promoting the rights of children and creating a safe and nurturing environment, "Hope For Children" CRC Policy Center continues to transform lives through its multifaceted humanitarian programs.
