Andreas Cleanthous elected new President of CFA Society Cyprus

Following its Annual General Meeting, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Cyprus has announced the new composition of its Board of Directors for 2023-2024.

According to an announcement, the Board of Directors now comprises of the following:

President, Andreas Cleanthous, CFA

Vice-president, Constantinos Kourouyiannis, CFA

Secretary, Natalie Philippou, CFA

Treasurer, Evgeny Tarakanov, CFA

Member, Marie Louroutziati, CFA

Member, Adamos Hadjiantoniou, CFA

Member, Nikos Potamaris, CFA

Natalie Philippou will lead the DEI Committee, Adamos Hadiantoniou will lead the Advocacy Committee, Marie Louroutziati will lead the Financial Literacy Committee and Nikos Potamaris will lead the Research Challenge and University Relations Committee, the announcement said.

The new Board of Directors of the CFA Society Cyprus has also issued the following statement:

“Our diverse and experienced board members bring a plethora of knowledge and expertise to guide our Society towards continued growth and new heights. In the coming months, through various actions and initiatives, the Board of Directors will aim for partnership development between the CFA Institute, CFA Society Cyprus, local regulators, government offices and universities. We will offer support and resources to CFA Charterholders, CFA Program candidates and companies promoting the CFA Charter. Community outreach efforts will be enhanced by advancing financial literacy among young people. We will train and mentor university students in financial analysis and create for them opportunities for internships in supporting companies. Guidance will be provided for the investment industry to drive diversity equity and inclusion, and embrace the highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society.”

The AGM took place on 17 July, 2023. The CFA Society Cyprus is an independent, non-profit association, comprised of CFA Charterholders and CFA Institute members residing in Cyprus. To become and remain a CFA Charterholder, one must pass 3 levels of examinations of the CFA Program administered by the CFA Institute, have completed at least 4000 hours of relevant work experience, obtain 3 professional references and behave according to ethical and professional standards.
