Greek FM on official visit to Cyprus

Newly-appointed Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis is expected to pay his first visit to Cyprus on Tuesday, 4 July.

This will be the first official visit abroad of the Greek Foreign Minister since he took office as head of Greek diplomacy.

Initially, the Foreign Minister will be received by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides.

Subsequently, Minister Gerapetritis will hold a meeting with his Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kombos, after which the two delegations will hold extended talks.

The two Foreign Ministers will make joint statements to the press at 11.15 am, followed by a working lunch.

The talks are expected to focus on developments in the Cyprus problem, bilateral relations, and issues of regional and multilateral cooperation between the two countries and other states in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. In addition, issues related to the EU and current international developments, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine will form part of the agenda to be discussed.
