Founded in 2000, JetBrains has about 1,800 employees across remote locations, and is headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, with 12 offices worldwide.

JetBrains creates software development tools used by over 15.9 million professionals and 90 Fortune Global Top 100 companies. Its line-up of over 30 products includes IDEs for most programming languages and products for team collaboration. JetBrains also created Kotlin – a concise cross-platform programming language used by more than 5 million developers worldwide.

While the idea of opening an office in Cyprus had been discussed since 2017, a final decision was made in 2022. “After announcing the new location in Cyprus, more than 100 employees showed interest in relocating, presenting the opportunity to build something great,” the company said. “During our first year, we opened offices in Paphos and Limassol.”

Now, with more than 250 people in Cyprus, it is about to start another big project: converting a building in the centre of Paphos, its main location in Cyprus, into comfortable, modern offices accommodating around 250 employees.

“Investment in talent has always been a priority at JetBrains,” it said. “As such, we are proud of our partnership with Neapolis University Paphos, developing a new bachelor’s degree programme, which will allow many students to start careers in tech.”

This year taking place at Hilton Nicosia, the 11th Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards, organised by GOLD magazine and Invest Cyprus, are supported by Platinum Sponsor PwC Cyprus and Gold Sponsors Eurobank Cyprus and ECOMMBX.
