Weight of goods transported by road up 28% in Q1

The weight of goods transported by road to and from Cyprus in the first quarter of 2023 was up 28% compared to Q1 last year, according to Cystat data.

The total weight of goods transported by road in Cyprus also increased by 8.3%, reaching 10.5 million tonnes, compared to 9.6 million in the corresponding period of 2022.

An increase of 60.1% was also noted in the tonne-kilometres (tkm) registered in the road freight transport to and from Cyprus, with an additional increase of 12.7% recorded in the road freight transport in Cyprus.
