Price of construction materials is stabilising

The price index of construction materials is showing a stabilising trend, since in recording an increase of just 0.38% in July year-on-year, according to Cystat.

Compared with June, construction material prices dropped 0.19%.

Cystat said the biggest changes were recorded in minerals and metallic products, with the former increasing and the latter decreasing.

The Price Index of Construction Materials for July 2023 reached 135.02 units (base year 2015=100), recording a decrease of 0.19% compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 0.38%.

By main commodity category, a 14.69% increase was recorded in minerals, mineral products went up 6.53%, products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics by 2.40% and electromechanical products by 1.16%. Α 9.53% decrease was recorded in metallic products.
