New yellow-level weather warning in place

The Department of Meteorology has issued a new yellow weather warning for Wednesday, 23 August.

''Maximum temperature over the inland areas is expected to rise to around 40 degrees Celsius,'' according to the Meteorology Department.

The warning is valid from 11am until 5pm on Wednesday.
