Multimarine Services Ltd constructs FEH for France's EOLMED project

Cypriot company Multimarine Services Ltd has successfully completed the construction of a Floating Electrical Hub (FEH) for the EOLMED project Offshore Wind Farm in France.
A FEH is a non-propelled floating cylindrical 'buoy' that is used as an electrical hub to collect the electrical output from the floating offshore wind turbines and transmit it via stranded cables to the shore.
The floating structure will be installed outside the Port La Nouvelle in France, according to a recent announcement from the company. Construction was completed within the approved schedule and in complete safety, at Multimarine 's facilities services at the port of Limassol, Multimarine Services Ltd noted.
The EOLMED Offshore Wind Farm project concerns the construction and operation of 30 MW of floating offshore wind turbines, at a distance of 15 km from the Gruissan coastline in France at depths of 59m to 90m. The EOLMED company consists of giant businesses specialising in Renewable Energy Sources (RES), namely Qair, Total, BW Ideol, and MHI Vestas.
Multimarine Services Ltd's role is considered another investment of millions in Cyprus connected to the company, and, most importantly, demonstrates the trust in a businessthat has been based in Cyprus for more than 20 years, providing specialised services in the Shipping and Energy sectors, the company announcement continued.
With the successful completion of the above project, Multimarine Services Ltd has dynamically entered the Renewable Energy Sources and specialised construction sector for offshore wind farms in the Mediterranean region and beyond, the announcement added.
Multimarine Services Ltd also noted that offshore wind farm projects have been topping international headlines and are already of interest to the governments in Greece and Cyprus, with the relevant Ministries anticipating expressions of interest from RES investors.
