RIF announces travel funding opportunities for Cyprus-based organisations

The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has announced that €100,000 has been made available to help Cypriot organisations participate in overseas events within the framework of Horizon Europe.

Horizon Europe is the European Union's Framework Program for Research and Innovation for 2021-27, and is offered to individuals representing organisations with the Cypriot ecosystem.

According to RIF, the new Horizon Europe Travel Grants initiative aims to support the participation of Cypriot organisations in events providing important opportunities to find partners with the ultimate goal of their jointly submitting proposals to Horizon Europe.

More specifically, participation in Brokerage Events or other types of networking events or activities, which take place abroad with the physical presence of the participants, is covered. The events may be organised by the Networks of National Contact Points (NCPs) of the individual Multi-Thematic Priorities, the EU, and/or other entities, networks and initiatives.

The total budget of the new Call amounts to €100,000 with a maximum funding per participation of €1,000. As part of the financing, the cost of travel is covered, while people in organizations such as universities, research organizations, businesses, Non-Governmental Organizations and public services have the right to participate.

The Call is particularly aimed at stakeholders who are going to submit Proposals as Coordinators and/or lead Work Package Leaders and/or individual Activities (Task Leaders) of potential project consortia that will be submitted to Horizon Europe Calls. Participants are expected to actively participate in said events (for example through scheduled meetings, short and/or detailed presentations, etc.).

The submission of expressions of interest should be made through the Institute’s IRIS online platform of the Institute, no later than three weeks before the start date of the respective event. For more information, those interested can contact RIF at the email address support@research.org.cy or by phone at 22205000.

The Call is co-financed by the EU, under the Horizon Europe NCP_WIDERA.NET project and by national resources.
