The Island Private School on way to IB accreditation

The Island Private School is currently on the path to accreditation by the International Baccalaureate (IB).

While it is currently designated as a candidate school, it is working towards achieving full IB accreditation by the end of this year, the school said.
“The process of obtaining IB accreditation can take up to 2-3 years, and we are dedicated to meeting all the necessary requirements and fulfilling the rigorous standards set by the IB organisation,” it said.

As a candidate school, The Island Private School has already obtained a licence from the Ministry of Education.
To initiate the accreditation process, the school has diligently worked on developing its PYP (Primary Years Programme) and MYP (Middle Years Programme) over the course of a year. It has submitted its application to IB, and its dedicated team has undergone an initial review.
The next steps involve hosting two visits from IB representatives. “The first visit is a consultation to ensure that we are on the right track and fulfilling all the necessary criteria. The second visit is a comprehensive evaluation, during which our documentation, facilities, and educational practices will be thoroughly examined. These visits are scheduled to take place in October.”
In addition to fulfilling the requirements set by IB, the school is also focused on providing ongoing training for its teachers. “It is mandatory for all our educators to undergo training and certification to ensure they are well-prepared to deliver the IB curriculum.”
It added, “We are thrilled about the opportunity to offer our students an internationally recognised education and to provide them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a globalised world. Attaining IB accreditation will further solidify our commitment to excellence and ensure that our students receive the highest quality education.”
