Announcing the lucky winner of the EnteryCy contest

The lucky winner of the EnterCy contest, which took place from 1st July 2022 up until 31st August 2023, is Shafen Morshed, who won a trip to Cyprus for two people with all expenses covered.

Making the most of today’s ICT, the EnterCY platform offers a huge amount of digital content on various places in Cyprus that are of special interest to visitors. It has been created for tourists to use both before and during their visit to the island, as well as for permanent residents.

The ultimate visitor experience is available via the EnterCY online platform and the EnterCY app, which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.

The app lets people wishing to visit Cyprus create a profile and, based on where they intend to stay, when they will be here, and the nature of their personal interests, they can receive information about places to visit and the large range of available activities. During their visits to cultural sights, they can also use the app’s audio guide and experience the digital reconstruction of certain sites via augmented reality. Tourists can also share their experience in real time on social media, as the Enter CY app offers interactive digital content for all the most important sights in Cyprus.

Specifically, it contains:

200 + visitor locations with digital content
100 + narrations and audio guides
50 + explorations using augmented reality
20 + virtual reconstructions of archaeological sites, monuments, and objects

The EnterCΥ project is an innovative initiative that promotes Cyprus as a tourist destination. Its main goal is to create an integrated virtual and augmented reality platform, via which visitors are informed about the island’s sights and rich cultural heritage through virtual reality (VR) exploration. During their visit, they can enjoy visual and audio guidance and browsing, in addition to on-site narration via augmented reality (AR).

EnterCY is an innovative EU project (INTEGRATED/0916/0020), coordinated by the Frederick Research Centre, together with the University of Cyprus, CyRIC, Silversky3D, ΙΜΗ, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Antiquities, the Cyprus Tourist Guide Association and the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents (ACTA). It is supported by Hermes Airports. The project is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus, through the Research & Innovation Foundation (RIF).
