Hermes Airports: Flights from Cyprus to UK running smoothly

Flights between Cyprus’ two international airports and the UK are running smoothly, Maria Kouroupi, Senior Manager Aviation Development, Marketing & Communications at Hermes Airports, has told CNA.

“Following the problem that occurred on Monday, August 28th with the air traffic monitoring system in the United Kingdom, resulting in the cancellation of thousands of flights to various destinations, flights to Larnaca and Paphos airports have returned to their normal flow," Kouroupi said.

As of 31 August, there have been no delays in flights to and from the United Kingdom, said Kouroupi. “Flights to and from the UK from both airports in Cyprus are not experiencing any problems and are now operating smoothly."

The problem in the UK’s air traffic monitoring system affected a total of 24 flights at Larnaca Airport, of which six were cancelled but later rescheduled.

As for Paphos Airport, a total of 21 flights were affected, of which four were cancelled, but they were also rescheduled and carried out as planned.
