Seven tech industry heroes celebrated at 2023 TechIsland Awards

Paying tribute to all those who are using their resources and influence to bring about real change within Cyprus’ communities, from education and social actions to policy reforms, the TechIsland Awards 2023 have recognised seven individuals and organisations for their contribution.

Taking place at the Parklane Resort & Spa in Limassol on the evening of 7 September, the prestigious event started off with music and an inspiring presentation by Stylianos Lambrou, Co-founder & CEO of Heart Group and a member of the TechIsland Board.

Hosts Melanie Steliou and Andreas Araouzos noted that the evening was more than an occasion to praise ground groundbreaking technologies but also an opportunity to celebrate those who are building a better future for Cyprus.

More specifically, the Impact Driver award went to City Friends Club, with the award accepted by founder Anna Gubareva.

The award in the Game Changer category went to The Civil Registry and Migration Department of the Ministry of Interior with the prize accepted by the Department’s Director Maria Adamidou.

The Reflect Festival was named IT Ambassador with representatives Andria Lambrou and Aleksander Jahn on stage to accept the award.

The Rising Star award went to RSL Revolutionary Labs Ltd with founder Dr. Marianna Prokopi-Demetriades handed the prize.

In the Future-Shapers category, the prize went to The Island Private School of Limassol, with its CEO Alexander Shkuratov handed the award.

TheSoul Publishing was named Role Model of the Year, with Aleksandra Sulimko, Chief HR Officer, accepting the award on the company’s behalf.

Last but not least, Alexey Gubarev, among other things a member of Palta’s board of directors, was named the winner in the Thought Leader category.

Live musical entertainment during the glamorous event was provided by the innovative novaYA, combining the mesmerising tones of an opera voice with the futuristic vibes of a laser harp.

Guests at the event were also invited to take part in a prize draw for a weekend getaway with the all-electric BMW iX.
