First TechIsland Awards held with great success (vid)

The first TechIsland Awards have taken place, welcoming dignitaries including President Nikos Christodoulides and hundreds of esteemed members of the local tech and business scene.

Taking place at the Parklane Resort & Spa in Limassol on the evening of 7 September, the event saw seven individuals and organisations recognized for creating positive change within Cyprus’[ communities.

Hosted by Melanie Steliou and Andreas Araouzos, the event saw the following prizes awarded:

Impact Driver: City Friends Club, with the award accepted by founder Anna Gubareva.

Game Changer: The Civil Registry and Migration Department of the Ministry of Interior with the prize accepted by the Department’s Director Maria Adamidou.

IT Ambassador: The Reflect Festival with representatives Andria Lambrou and Aleksander Jahn on stage to accept the award.

Rising Star: RSL Revolutionary Labs Ltd with founder Dr. Marianna Prokopi-Demetriades handed the prize.

Future-Shapers: The Island Private School of Limassol, with its CEO Alexander Shkuratov handed the award.

Role Model of the Year: TheSoul Publishing with Aleksandra Sulimko, Chief HR Officer, accepting the award on the company’s behalf.

Dignitaries attending the event also included, among others, House President Annita Demetriou, Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos.

Live musical entertainment during the glamorous ceremony was provided by the innovative novaYA, combining the mesmerising tones of an opera voice with the futuristic vibes of a laser harp. The evening started off with DJ music accompanied by live saxophone and a rousing live drum performance.

Guests at the event were also invited to take part in a prize draw for a weekend getaway with the all-electric BMW iX.
