New Ministers and other officials to assume official duties

The swearing-in ceremony for the new Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Commissioners that were announced in the recent government reshuffle will take place early on 10 January at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of President Nikos Christodoulides.

Earlier in the week, the President announced a partial government reshuffle that saw Vasilis Palmas appointed Minister of Defence, Maria Panayiotou appointed Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Marios Hartsiotis appointed Minister of Justice and Public Order, Michalis Damianos appointed Minister of Health, Nicodemos Damianou appointed Deputy Minister for Innovation, Research and Digital Policy and Marilena Raouna appointed Deputy Minister for European Affairs.

In addition, Panayiotis Palates is appointed Commissioner for the Citizen, Charalambos Christofinas is the new Commissioner for Mountainous Areas and Antonia Theodosiou is the Commissioner for the Environment.
