EUC and the European Centre for Arbitration and Mediation Cyprus cooperate

The European University Cyprus and the European Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (CEAM) Cyprus Chapter have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
According to a relevant announcement, the agreement was signed by Professor Andreas Efstathiou, Rector of the European University Cyprus, and Yiannos Georgiades, President of the Cyprus Chapter of CEAM and managing partner of the law firm Georgiades & Associates LLC.
Also present at the ceremony were Professor Marios Vryonides, Vice-Rector for Research and External Affairs, Dr. Christiana Markou, Associate Professor at the Law School of the European University Cyprus, officials from the Rectorate and Stephanie Georgiadou partner in Georgiades & Associates
The European Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (CEAM), founded in 1959 and based in Strasbourg, has national branches in various countries, including Cyprus. Since its establishment, the European Arbitration Court has been dedicated to improving arbitration in judicial disputes.
Rector Efstathiou commented, “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our commitment to promoting peaceful and effective commercial dispute resolution. Through this partnership, we aim to enhance access to specialised training, resources, and expertise in arbitration and mediation for the benefit of our academic community and the wider business and legal sectors.”
On his part, Georgiades stated that he, “is delighted to see this collaboration come to fruition.”

The signing ceremony took place on Monday, 11 December 2023 at the Senate Hall of the European University Cyprus.
