Foundation for the Management of EU Programs unveils new Erasmus+ projects

The Foundation for the Management of EU Lifelong Learning Programs has announced the management of the new Erasmus+ Programs for youth, the European Solidarity Corps and the European Portal Eurodesk.

A press release said that the President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation Dr. Petros Pashiardis noted that since its establishment, the Foundation has managed the European Erasmus+ Program and provides opportunities for mobility and collaborations in the fields of school education, vocational education and training, of higher education, adult education and sports.

He added that with the management of the new Programs, the Foundation will continue to take action in informing all interested parties, supporting them in applying and managing their approved projects.

Thanos Athanasiou, Press Officer of the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus, also addressed the Conference.

Dr. Stylianos Mavromoustakos, Director of the Foundation, presented the Erasmus+ program, which aims to support the educational, professional and personal development of individuals both in Europe and abroad, through lifelong learning.

He said that that the program creates the conditions for sustainable development, quality jobs, social cohesion, promotion of innovation, strengthening of European identity and active participation in society.

He added that the Foundation will receive for 2024 amounts close to €24 million.

Dr. Mavromoustakos also mentioned that the results of the Program for 2022 highlight the positive impact both in Cyprus and in the rest of the European countries where indicatively 12,652 movements were carried out from abroad to Cyprus and 5,722 from Cyprus to abroad.

The Foundation is the National Agency for the management of all the actions of the Erasmus+ Programs (Education, Training, Youth and Sports) and the European Solidarity Corps. It is also the competent service for the operation of the European Network "Eurodesk" in Cyprus.

It additionally manages eTwinning, which is the online cooperation program between schools and coordinates the work of the National Team of Experts in the field of Vocational Education and Training.
