Shipping Deputy Ministry and UCLan Cyprus sign MoU

The Shipping Deputy Ministry and the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus), renewed their cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Shipping Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis and the Chair of UCLan Cyprus Council, Floros Voniatis, last week at the University's premises.

According to a Deputy Ministry statement, the purpose of the Memorandum is to develop cooperation in the fields of Technology, Science, Research and Education related to shipping and integrated maritime policy, while the Memorandum includes, among other things, joint participation in research projects on issues related to shipping and the organisation of special workshops, events and lectures for the understanding, promotion, and development of Cypriot shipping.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, short training programmes for the Deputy Ministry's executives will be implemented, as well as a short internship which the Shipping Deputy Ministry will offer to the University’s students, the statement concludes.
