3rd Review of CMMI – MaRITeC-X project completed

Τhe 3rd Review of CMMI – MaRITeC-X project has been completed with the active engagement of CMMI management and staff, as well as that of advanced and local partners.

As noted in a CMMI LinkedIn post, these partners encompass the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute (SMMI) - University of Southampton, the Marine Institute of Ireland, Blue Wise Marine, Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Larnaca Municipality, GeoImaging, SignalGenerix & the Marine Institute of Eastern Mediterranean (MarInEM).

Carried out on 24 and 25 January, the Review covered all operational, financial, research and innovation developments of the past 18 months, as well as the Institute’s future plans.

According to the same post, meetings took place at CMMI House in Larnaca and at LCCI’s premises in Limassol where CMMI’s Liaison office is hosted.

The programme included visits to CMMI’s Campus at Voroklini, which is currently under construction, as well as to the Lighthouse and coast of Pervolia where some of CMMI’s planned projects are taking place.

A visit to Limassol Port followed at Petronav Ship Management Ltd premises, CMMI’s industrial partners, where a number of CMMI's Research and Technological infrastructures are located such as CMMI’s 3D Printer for the development of artificial reefs, a large Marine Observation Buoy that will be deployed within February at Amathounta coast, the steel tank barge that will be converted into a cold ironing power plant, an engine utilised for the testing of new fuels, and 'Ayios Charalambos' - a Traditional Boat recently refurbished with the aim to be exhibited to the public at CMMI’s premises.
