FinMin ready to meet all goals and especially those set for 2024, Minister says

The Ministry of Finance is ready to meet all goals, especially those set in the 2024 annual programme, Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos has stressed during statements at the Ministry of Finance.

Asked whether the Ministry is ready to implement what President Nikos Christodoulides, announced on for the economy during his 29 January presentation of the "Cyprus in Focus-Annual Programme 2024", the Minister pointed out that "during the 11 months of governance, a lot has been done and solid foundations have been laid to continue the government's productive work."

The President, Keravnos continued, has set specific goals, noting that "some goals may be considered ambitious but without goals, we cannot have a specific strategy and policies to achieve them."

"We must move forward with goals and make every effort to implement them for the benefit of our country, our economy, and our society", he went on to say.

He stressed that the Ministry of Finance is ready to meet all the goals, especially those set for 2024.

Asked if the economy can support the other goals announced by the President, which require funds, he said that "because we act proactively we already have a budget for 2024 that has a significant primary surplus just for this reason, to respond to what we have promised to the Cypriot people but also what we must do as a European country in a modern world, which is constantly evolving."
