GEM Capital leads $3.3 million Seed round of Helsinki-based Order of Meta

GEM Capital has led a $3.3 million Seed round of Helsinki-based mobile first games development company Order of Meta.

In a LinkedIn post, the Cyprus-based investment company said, "We are glad to be joined by our friends from Play Ventures, Korea Investment Partners and The Games Fund. Order of Meta is founded by games industry veterans Alexey Sazonov, Sergei Koziakov and Aleksei Kuzin, each with more than 15 years of experience. Sazonov (CEO) and Koziakov (COO) are 2nd time founders. Prior to Order of Meta, in 2016, they founded Panzerdog (developers of Tacticool), which was acquired by MY.GAMES in 2020. Kuzin (CTO) worked at Wargaming from 2016 to 2020, starting as a senior engine developer and ending as head of game engine (World Of Tanks PC). Alexey and Sergei's previous game Tacticool was a mobile co-op 5v5 top-down shooter for iOS, Android and PC."

As noted by GEM Capital, to date, the game has seen over 30 million downloads and made $75 million in revenue.

Meanwhile, Order of Meta has also officially unveiled Cargo Hunters. "A mobile cross-platform PvPvE extraction shooter with a deep metagame. In Cargo Hunters, players must survive and fight for resources across an abandoned Earth. The game stands out with its distinctive, dystopian visual style, featuring battle-damaged robot characters in place of human soldiers," GEM Capital's post noted.
