AEL Limassol B.C. honours payabl. with award for Outstanding Contribution

payabl., a leading European financial services provider, has been awarded a special recognition for its outstanding contribution to AEL Limassol Basketball Club, during the club’s 57th anniversary gala dinner.

The celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol, hosted by AEL Limassol B.C. – now officially named payabl. EKA AEL, and nicknamed "the Queen" of Cypriot Basketball – also marked the third year of collaboration between payabl. and the legendary club.

The evening featured the launch of a commemorative book chronicling AEL’s rich history and celebrated both past and present achievements of the club. Attendees at the gala dinner included His Excellency Nikos Christodoulides, President of Cyprus, key sponsors, players, and community supporters, all gathered to honour AEL’s 57 years of excellence and its impact on Cypriot basketball.

The award was presented to payabl. in recognition of its unwavering support, which has been instrumental in AEL’s growth and success both on and off the court. This partnership exemplifies the shared values of dedication, innovation, and community between both organisations, a relevant announcement noted.

AEL Limassol Basketball Club President, Michael Loizides, expressed the club’s appreciation for payabl.'s support, stating: "We deeply value our partnership with payabl., now in its third year and hopefully for many more. Ugne, a basketball fan herself as a true Lithuanian, believed in our plan to bring AEL BC to top-level basketball and here we are today well on our way to achieving this target with the gala dinner serving as a launch pad. At payabl. EKA AEL BC we share the same values of dedication, community, and excellence, which makes this partnership truly special. We look forward to many more years of collaboration, driving forward both on and off the court."

Commenting on the award, Ugne Buraciene, Group CEO of payabl., said, "It’s an absolute honour to receive this award from PAYABL EKA AEL, a club that stands for resilience, teamwork, and excellence. At payabl., we are dedicated to creating meaningful partnerships, and supporting AEL aligns perfectly with our values. We look forward to continuing this journey together, fostering both community and sporting success."

This recognition underscores payabl.’s commitment to supporting local communities and empowering partners to achieve new heights, much like AEL’s influence in Cypriot basketball. The collaboration between payabl. and AEL has not only strengthened ties to the sports community but has also helped the club enhance its presence both locally and internationally.
