How did the collaboration between La Petite Maison (Limassol) and The Macallan come about?

The collaboration between La Petite Maison (Limassol) and The Macallan came about naturally, with both brands sharing a passion for quality and craftsmanship. LPM is known for its delicious French Riviera-inspired cuisine and innovative cocktails, while The Macallan has a stellar reputation for its fine single-malt Scotch whiskies. A big part of the partnership was thanks to The Macallan’s “Spiritual Home” platform, which brings together top establishments that align with its values. It’s a perfect match of two brands focused on delivering unforgettable, high-end guest experiences.

What inspired you personally to create the new collection of four The Macallan cocktails which are now available at the restaurant?

The inspiration for creating the new collection of Macallan cocktails was deeply influenced by my visit to The Macallan estate, where I was surrounded by the beauty of nature. Seeing firsthand how closely The Macallan connects with nature in crafting their unique whisky was a transformative experience. After reflecting on this, I decided to base the cocktails on the four elements—Earth, Water, Air, and Fire. Each cocktail represents a different element, incorporating natural aspects into the flavor profiles, presentation, and overall concept. This aligns perfectly with both The Macallan's philosophy and our approach at La Petite Maison, closely following the vision of our Group Bar Manager, Tibor Krascsenics.

Can you briefly describe each of the four cocktails – air, water, earth, and fire?

  • WATER: Inspired by the varying salinity of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, this twist on "The New Sour" showcases The Macallan 12-year-old Double Cask. Its vanilla, lemon, and nutty flavors are elevated, creating a subtle contrast both visually and on the palate.

  • EARTH: This reimagined Old Fashioned captures the essence of the Scottish landscape. It combines The Macallan with earthy morel mushrooms, the acidity of date balsamic vinegar, the sweetness of maple syrup, and our homemade walnut bitters for a rich, layered experience.

In what ways can the guests’ experience be enhanced when enjoying these cocktails?

To enhance the guest experience when enjoying these Macallan cocktails, we've focused on several key aspects of the presentation. First, we’ve incorporated storytelling—each cocktail comes with a brief explanation of its inspiration, connecting the guest to the natural elements of Earth, Water, Air, and Fire that shaped its creation. This adds a personal touch and makes the experience more immersive.

We’ve also elevated the visual and sensory presentation of these cocktails. For example, the Air cocktail features an edible foam, adding a light, airy texture that enhances its fresh, floral character. The Fire cocktail is served with dramatic smoky elements, paying homage to the craft of cask making. Water surprises guests with its layered appearance, creating a visual contrast that mimics the different salinity levels of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Finally, Earth brings nature directly to the table, presented in a life-like terrarium to evoke the feeling of the Scottish landscape, making the entire experience both immersive and interactive.
