“Let’s not let our dreams fall apart !”

With this central message, this year's Road Safety Week includes actions to highlight the importance of road safety for all. Starting from 18 October, users of the popular TikTok platform have been able to take part in the challenge and convey their own message about road safety and the importance of protecting human life to the public. The contest will end on 4 November, 2024, and the winner will be announced on 11 November, 2024, and be awarded with an iPhone 16 Plus from the Company.

On Saturday, 26 October, an awareness cycling ride in Larnaca, in collaboration with organised groups, will be held in memory of road traffic collision victims, followed by an event open to the public at Metropolis Mall Larnaca, from 10am to 2pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to get informed by CNP ASFALISTIKI and Cyprus Police officers regarding road safety issues and receive symbolic gifts.

Vehicles that have been involved in traffic collisions will be present at the venue, while members of motorcycle and bicycle clubs will inform the public about protection equipment and the correct use of it. There will also be demonstrations with goggle simulators on the consequences of alcohol, substances and fatigue and a training mat. The event will also include live radio coverage and a stilt-walker.

Throughout the Week, safety vests will be distributed to drivers on motorways across Cyprus, and various road safety messages and advice will be promoted through radio stations and social media.

The Road Safety Week is under the auspices of the Honourable Minister of Justice and Public Order, Marios Hartsiotis.
