Winds of Change is a finalist for prestigious 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award at the 2024 World Sailing Awards

Winds of Change, a pioneering initiative that uses sailing to promote peacebuilding and sustainability, is honored to announce its selection as a finalist for the 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award at the 2024 World Sailing Awards.

This recognition highlights the project's significant impact in fostering peace, environmental stewardship, and global collaboration—especially in divided regions like Cyprus, and beyond.

Winds of Change 2

Launched in 2018, the 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award celebrates high-impact, scalable initiatives aligned with the World Sailing Sustainability Agenda 2030 and it honors sustainability programs across the sailing community.

Public Voting and Award Announcement

Public voting for the award closes on October 27. Supporters can cast their votes here to help Winds of Change continue their mission of peace and sustainability. The winner will be announced live during the World Sailing Awards ceremony at the World Sailing Annual Conference in Singapore on November 5, 2024. During the Conference, on November 6, a screening of the documentary of the Winds of Change is scheduled.

Founded by Olympian and IOC Young Leader Sophia Papamichalopoulos, Winds of Change brings together youth from both sides of Cyprus through sailing, using the sport as a platform to promote peace, understanding, and collaboration.
